Menendez Brothers Seek Christmas Day Release

Additional Coverage:

The Menendez brothers, Erik and Lyle, will celebrate Christmas dinner in prison, possibly their last behind bars.

They are incarcerated for murdering their parents in 1989, but the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office may support resentencing them. However, a hearing is scheduled for late January.

On Christmas Day, the brothers will have a special dinner of turkey, pie, salad, corn, and chocolate milk, which is a rare treat for inmates. They will also play card games and attend non-religious services.

One tradition that will be absent is exchanging gifts. This could be the brothers’ last Christmas in prison if their resentencing hearing concludes favorably.
