The Brief
- Tony Ervin’s SUV, filled with Christmas presents, was stolen from the valet stand at the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta around 2 a.m. on Christmas Eve.
- Ervin paid extra for enhanced valet service, but the keys were not tagged, and he did not receive a ticket, which raises questions about the valet protocols.
- Despite claims of a broken window, Ervin found no broken glass at the scene, and the hotel is withholding surveillance footage unless a court order is obtained.
- Ervin was informed of the theft several hours after it happened, which meant he missed the chance to track and disable the vehicle remotely.
- The Ritz-Carlton has declined to comment due to an ongoing police investigation, and the valet service provider, Evolution Parking, has not responded to inquiries.

He said he thought, by paying extra for the valet to watch his car, it would be safe. “Not thinking anything about it because the car was at the front door of the Ritz-Carlton in valet, so I left the gifts there knowing the next day, I’d leave out.”…
