1 flown to trauma center after being freed from wreckage in Lebanon County crash

LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A person had to be flown to the trauma center after a Lebanon County crash Monday evening.

Emergency crews were dispatched for a crash with injuries on N. Fort Zellers Road at N. Kalbach Road in Millcreek Township just before 8 p.m., according to a post on Facebook by Newmanstown Volunteer Fire Company.

After arriving, crews confirmed the victim was trapped in the wreckage and went to work getting them out of the wreckage.

Photos posted by the fire company show a vehicle crashed into a tree, with parts of the vehicle cut off.

A landing zone for the medical helicopter was set up for the person to be flown after it took crews almost an hour to free the victim, the fire company wrote. They were then flown to a level one trauma center for treatment.

Numerous crews assisted at the scene including Neptune Fire Company, Womelsdorf Volunteer Fire Company, Keystone Hook & Ladder Company and Western Berks Ambulance Association.
