CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) – St. Casimir Church on the east side of Cleveland is holding very meaningful services around the holiday as it marks the 13th Christmas mass since the church reopened in 2012.

“Our people really love that anniversary because they know what it’s like to have lost something and then get it back. So, in a sense in the best thing to ever happen to the spirit of our people,” Fr. Eric Orzech said. “It’s a great joy. It’s a beautiful thing. This will be number four, but everyone is just as special because it’s unique for the people that are there. It’s always a joy to be at St. Casimir. The people are very dedicated. Very much in love with their church.”
One couple sitting in the front row at Christmas Mass was also celebrating their 60th anniversary.
Andrcej and Czeslawa Soaolewslki were there with their daughter Dorota and their grandkids.
New Ohio laws taking effect in 2025
Dorota told Fox 8 that her father Andrcej helped erect one of the monuments at the church and that they’ve been going to Sunday masses ever since their family came to the United States.
