Yesterday marked the somber twenty-fourth anniversary of the death of Irving Police Officer Aubrey Hawkins #830, who was killed in the line of duty responding to a robbery on December 24, 2000. In a tribute to his memory, the Irving Police Department took to social media to honor the fallen officer, sharing a poignant reminder of the day Hawkins was ambushed by seven escaped convicts amid an aggravated robbery at an Oshman’s Sporting Goods store.
