MENIFEE, California — Detectives from the Special Enforcement Team (SET) have arrested a suspect following an investigation into narcotics sales. The operation led to the discovery of fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to the City of Menifee Police Department.SET detectives conducted a traffic stop on the suspect while the Riverside County Gang Impact Team (GIT) executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. During the search, K9 Nala detected the odor of narcotics, leading to the discovery of approximately 40 grams of fentanyl, 3 grams of methamphetamine, a scale, and baggies. An occupant of the suspect’s vehicle was also arrested for possession of fentanyl, and the primary suspect was booked for sales and transportation of fentanyl and methamphetamine.The GIT is supervised by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigation and includes agents from various law enforcement agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Marshal’s Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, among others.
