13-year-old relative of Floyd Road shooting victim is arrested, Columbus police say

A 13-year-old relative of a 9-year-old boy who was fatally shot Sunday in Columbus has been arrested the Columbus Police Department announced.

The shooting in the 1300 block of Floyd Road left Lakeith Livingston, 9, dead after suffering a gunshot wound, the Ledger-Enquirer reported .

Police said the 13-year-old is being charged with felony involuntary manslaughter in connection with the shooting. The suspect is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court at 1:30 p.m. Friday, according to police.

The 13-year-old previously had been reported missing by CPD, the Ledger-Enquirer reported .

Brittany Santiago, public information officer for CPD, confirmed Tuesday to the Ledger-Enquirer the 13-year-old was a relative of Livingston.

“We were told that they were brothers,” Santiago said Tuesday, “but I’m not sure half-brother, step-brother.”
