Elon Musk’s Longtime Aide Joins Government Efficiency Department

Elon Musk’s close advisor, Steve Davis, has been tasked with recruiting staff for the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency. The department, led by Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, aims to cut federal spending by $2 trillion.

Davis has been instrumental in Musk’s business ventures for over 20 years, starting with SpaceX in 2003. He has since played a key role in the Boring Company and advised Musk during his Twitter takeover.

During his time at Musk’s companies, Davis has been known for his cost-cutting efforts. At the Boring Company, he approved expenses as low as a few hundred dollars. At SpaceX, he found a $3,900 alternative to a part that cost $120,000.

It remains unclear how Davis’s experience will translate to his new role in government. However, his track record suggests that he will prioritize cost efficiency in the Department of Government Efficiency.
