Knoxville Police: Crash involving pedestrian, Brinks truck on N. Broadway

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A pedestrian was struck by a Brinks truck on North Broadway near the Broadway Shopping Center on Thursday afternoon, the Knoxville Police Department reported.

The pedestrian, an adult man, was taken from the area to UT Medical center in critical condition and remains hospitalized, according to KPD.

They believe that the man fell in front of the truck “for reasons that remain under active investigation,” a KFD spokesperson said.

“Traffic is impacted in the area,” KPD posted at 4:31 p.m. Thursday. “Expect some delays and seek alternate routes if possible.”

KFD crash reconstruction personnel went to the scene due to the severity of the crash, arriving just after 3:30. Investigation is ongoing.
