The future of Mt. Juliet is heading to Golden Bear Gateway

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — The future of Mt. Juliet has made its way east.

“We want to be a city that offers everything: a place to live, work and — really — play,” Mt. Juliet mayor James Maness said.

In June, Costco opened their doors on Golden Bear Gateway.

“We knew when Costco [came] in, this would anchor the area,” Maness said. “It’s always been a vision for retail development out there, [and] commercial.

That vision is coming true.

In September, city leaders held a groundbreaking for Golden Bear Place, which will sit across the street from Costco. The massive development includes a bowling alley, housing, retail and much more.

“By Golden Bear, you see Legacy Pointe — the bowling alley, Dunkin’ Donuts, Texas Roadhouse…Whataburger — all those are slated to come,” Maness said.

Maness added these developments are located right off the highway, so it will provide visibility and avoid traffic.

“We’ve seen a lot of growth there in Golden Bear. We’re focusing on that,” Maness said. “We put a five-lane highway there before any of this was approved.”
