A local nonprofit organization will receive donations of toys, coats and school supplies through New York State’s annual holiday drive supporting families in need. Chautauqua County Rural Ministry is one of 18 nonprofits that will get new unwrapped toys, new or gently used coats, and new school supplies through the drive that ended last Monday. A total of 6,200 donations were collected at drop-off locations set up by the state’s Office of General Services, and shipped donations were received at the Empire State Plaza and other outlets. In partnership with community organizations, 18 holiday events were hosted across the state’s 10 regions to distribute the donations.
