An altercation between security and a man at a downtown Minneapolis bar over the weekend ended with a stabbing, police said.
The Minneapolis Police Department responded to The Saloon, a longtime gay bar on the corner of Hennepin Avenue and 9th Street, shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday and found a man with life-threatening stab wounds.
“Preliminary information indicates the man was injured during an altercation with security,” police shared.
A bouncer, who was also injured, was taken to the hospital and then booked into the Hennepin County Jail in connection with assault, according to MPD.
The Saloon is planning extra security for the bar’s New Year’s celebration, the Star Tribune reports .
