SC residents prepare for the new year with traditional Southern foods for luck

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – South Carolinians are hungry for 2025 and are looking to prepare some time-honored New Year’s Day foods to ring in the new year. In many states across the South, it’s considered a New Year’s tradition to prepare collard greens, black-eyed peas, pork and cornbread to eat on Jan. 1.
