Clemson Transfer Wins Sugar Bowl for Texas

The 2025 Sugar Bowl was decided in two overtimes by none other than a Clemson transfer.

After Texas’ double-digit lead withered away, the Longhorns needed one stop up 39-31 in 2OT. Former Tiger defensive back Andrew Mukuba Sr. sealed the game with an interception on the sideline to punch a ticket to the Cotton Bowl.

That’s Mukuba’s fifth inteception of the season in what’s become a year to define his college career. His game-deciding effort brings Texas back to the home state to play at AT&T Stadium.

Over three years at Clemson, Mukuba had 149 total tackles and 20 pass breakups. He also had three tackles and a pass breakup in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal win over the Tigers.
