Speed limit reduced on Interstates 79, 90, 86 in Erie County for second time Wednesday

( WJET/WFXP )– The speed limit of several interstates in Erie County have been reduced again Wednesday due to winter weather with limitations in place for commercial vehicles.

The speed limit has been reduced to 45 MPH for the following roadways:

  • I-79 from Exit 166 (Route 6N, Albion/Edinboro) to the ending point in the City of Erie
  • I-86 from the New York state line to the I-90 interchange.
  • I-90 from the Ohio state line to the New York state line.

Commercial vehicles are also limited to traveling in the right lane only.

With more winter weather forecasted for the coming days, crews will continue to treat roadways to keep them passable.
