Long Beach residents ushered in the New Year amid unsettling gun violence, with the Long Beach Police Department reporting two separate no-hit shootings early on New Year’s Day. According to the official LBPD Blotter, the first incident occurred at around 12:35 a.m. in the 1000 block of Cherry Avenue, where officers found a vehicle had been hit by gunfire.
