Wells called her friend from the motel at 7 p.m. on April 12 saying she was going to eat at McDonald’s before returning to her room. Wells asked the desk clerk for directions to the McDonald’s and left in a rented 1993 Plymouth Acclaim with Oklahoma license plates.

This is the last time Wells was reported being seen. Shortly after midnight on April 13 a friend attempted to enter Wells’ room but had no response. A motel employee opened the room to find Wells’ belongings still inside, but no sign of her.
