Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Special Victims Unit are seeking information about the cruel and disturbing killing of 30 Egyptian Geese in Cooper City, offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for tips that lead to the arrest of the involved parties.
According to the January 2, 2025, press release, the unsettling act of animal cruelty occurred at approximately 7:45 pm on Saturday, December 28, 2024, near Southwest 49th Street and Southwest 120th Avenue in Cooper City. According to a witness, the animals were run over by what appeared to be an off-road-style golf cart or other vehicle similar in appearance to a Bighorn Explorer Crew 400, and was occupied by about 4 or 5 young adults.
Detectives say the vicious “joy ride” of an attack took place in the lake easement area between the Flamingo Gardens West subdivision and the Countryside Shops Plaza in Cooper City. The vehicle was last seen turning into the Flamingo Townhomes subdivision.
