Man charged in Tangipahoa killings, kidnappings now faces federal counts, U.S. Attorney says

An Amite man accused of killing a Loranger woman and one of her children and kidnapping and sexually abusing a surviving child now faces federal charges, officials said. Daniel Callihan, now 37, faces counts of kidnapping resulting in death and transporting a minor in interstate commerce with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana in New Orleans said in a news release Friday.
