LOVES PARK, Ill. (WTVO) — The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who died after being struck by a car as 50-year-old Tracey Campbell.
On Jan. 2, around 10:30 p.m., the victim was walking in the 5200 block of of East Riverside Boulevard when she was hit. The driver stopped, remained on the scene and called 911.
Campbell was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where she was treated for her injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, Campbell died at 10:53 p.m.
Autopsy reports revealed the victim died from blunt trauma to her chest and abdomen.
Love Park Police are still investigating Campbell’s death.
