Road rage encounter leads to man getting struck and killed by vehicle on Colorado highway

An apparent road rage situation ultimately left one dead in Colorado on January 1.

According to the Westminster Police Department, officers responded the scene of a three-vehicle crash along US 36 in the area of Church Ranch Road at about 1:30 a.m. on the morning of New Year’s Day. Preliminary information related to the case indicates that the situation started with a road rage situation between two drivers. This road rage eventually led to a confrontation, and when the driver of one of the vehicles involved exited his vehicle to approach the other driver, he was reportedly struck by an SUV traveling westbound along the highway.

The man who was struck was 30 years old. He was transported to a hospital and later pronounced deceased. Alcohol may be a factor in the case, as the deceased driver is alleged to have had an open container in his vehicle.

No charges have been filed yet with the investigation is still underway.
