OLDSMAR, Fla. (WFLA) — A two-alarm house fire broke out Friday afternoon in the East Lake Woodlands subdivision in Oldsmar.
Units from a number of agencies responded, but East Lake Fire Chief Jason Gennaro said there were no injuries.

“Fortunately with that structure fire, units were able to control that fire within 30 minutes, and fortunately, there were no injuries to any of the homeowners or pets,” Gennaro said.
Video provided by the East Lake Fire Department shows smoke and flames coming from the roof of the home when first responders first arrived.
“Essentially the first units showed up and found, essentially an attic fire, so they located, confined and extinguished the fire,” Gennaro said.
He said a quick attack on the fire and fast actions by the homeowners prevented greater damage.
“The people were home, which is a good thing because they were able to call 911 very promptly, which we believe reduced the amount of damage to the home,” Gennaro said.
