One man is injured and another is facing felony charges following a San Antonio metalcore show stabbing at a popular Texas nightclub. Police say a 36-year-old man stabbed a fellow San Antonio metalcore concertgoer at the Paper Tiger on North St. Mary’s Street days before the New Year.
According to MySanAntonio.com, police responded to the venue at about 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27. They arrived to find a 21-year-old man lying on the ground outside the entrance with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds all over his body.
Police say a fight broke out between the two men during a metalcore concert at the Paper Tiger, where Texas crossover/metalcore band Life Cycles was headlining. The show’s lineup also included Fear Of Loss, Voracious Contempt, Crossways 3000, and Public Threat.
Witnesses told police that John Anthony Guerrero, 36, pulled out a knife and stabbed the younger man multiple times. San Antonio law enforcement officials arrested Guerrero and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The second-degree felony carries a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years.
