Crews battle multiple fires across Charlotte in freezing rain

Crews with the Charlotte Fire Department were on the scene of multiple fires Monday morning, as freezing rain feel across the area.

CFD said they responded to reports of a fire at an apartment building in the 600 block of Key Street around 7 a.m. Officials later confirmed there were no injuries to residents or firefighters at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Just before 8:30 a.m., CFD said they responded to reports of a fire in the 200 block of Worthington Avenue. Crews were able to control the fire in 25 minutes, CFD said, adding that there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

The cause of that fire is also under investigation.
