Virginia man arrested on multiple charges after fleeing from Currituck County deputy

The Currituck County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a Virginia man after he fled from a CCSO deputy.

According to a CCSO news release, on December 13, 2024 at around 6:20 p.m., a CCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Kia passenger vehicle. During the stop, the driver – Charles Turner, 35, of Norfolk, Va. – sped off.

“Deputies deployed stop sticks due to statue not allowing a full block of a state road and pursued the vehicle through Moyock before later being caught in VA,” stated the release.

Turner was charged with the following charges and was held with no bond until extradition:  felony flee to elude, felony assault on a government official, misdemeanor reckless drive to endanger, misdemeanor speeding, misdemeanor opener container of alcohol, misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia, failure to yield, and drive left of center.
