MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Scattered showers will begin around the morning commute in isolated areas. Thanks to some south-to-southwest winds, we will see warmer air move in. Morning temperatures are much warmer than yesterday by 15-25 degrees.
Afternoon temperatures will be on a decreasing trend inland because of a cold front moving through. Inland will see upper-50s and low-60s and the coast will get warmer in the mid-60s.
Rain will move through the area between 8 am and 4 pm. Some rain could be heavy at times, but it is not a washout; there will be breaks in the rain during that time.
We will also see some gusty winds. Wind gusts up to 45 mph around the coast will be possible. A wind advisory is in effect from central Horry to the Grand Strand until 6 p.m.
Behind this storm system, the coldest air of the winter season will move into the area. Daytime highs are in the low to mid-40s, and overnight lows are well into the 20s. We will see lots of sunshine from Tuesday through Thursday.
