What was once an East Hill community hardware store is now a bustling bistro where friends catch up over glasses of wine during happy hour and share plates of food fresh from the scratch kitchen.
The East Hill Wine Bar , located at 2704 N. 12th Ave., is the second Wine Bar location for owner Ian Kaple, who opened the original Wine Bar on Palafox in 2010 in downtown Pensacola.
While you can find many of the Palafox Street location’s “main hits” on the East Hill location’s menu – like the goat cheese napoleon, Cuban sandwich and poke nachos – the lunch and dinner menus boast dozens of exciting new creations by executive chef Ross Johnson. While there is plenty to try, there is still more to come, as Johnson plans to update the brunch menu to make it more custom to the East Hill location.
When crafting the menu, Johnson said he wanted to create something that had a little more of an upscale feel compared to the downtown location.
