EUGENE, Ore. – Fire crews responded early on Monday to an active house fire in the Santa Clara area, according to fire and law enforcement officials. Authorities said that fire crews responded at about 1:15 a.m. on January 6 to a house fire in the 200 block of River Loop 2, just down the road from the 7-Eleven store on River Road. Fire crews responded to reports of multiple explosions, according to Eugene Springfield officials. Fire authorities said that responding firefighters arrived to find that the home was fully engulfed in flames and, while fire crews were in contact with the people inside, the structure was unstable so crews were not able to go inside, fire officials said.
