Suspect accused of using card skimmers to steal Ohio SNAP benefits

Investigators say they’ve uncovered who’s behind a scheme to steal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits from Ohioans using EBT card skimmers. The Ohio Investigative Unit and Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office have announced the indictment of Hafedh Al-Gahim, 52, of Brooklyn, New York, and his company Buffalo Discount Corp. Al-Gahim and his company are accused of defrauding more than $125,000 in SNAP benefits from Ohio recipients.
