DENVER ( KDVR ) — Amid over 1,000 complaints of street racing in Colorado, authorities cited hundreds for driving-related charges over the past year.
Street racing has been a problem all over Colorado.
In April, residents living close by in an Aurora neighborhood said disruptive flash-mob car racing happened in the parking lot every Sunday, while Denver police cited a driver for street racing on Interstate 25 in October — and the list goes on.
In total throughout 2024, the Colorado State Patrol said citizens made almost 2,000 street racing complaints on the Street Racing Working Group’s website, while many more complaints were made to local police.
