Orlando’s Broken Strings Brewery closes for good

Broken Strings Brewery, located in Parramore, is officially closed for good.

The watering hole announced its closure, effective immediately, Monday afternoon on social media.

Owner Charles Frizzell writes that changes to the downtown Orlando business landscape have turned the area into a “ghost town.” The business saw no way it could remain open throughout the new year, he writes. Frizzell also attributes the closure to other factors like business cost increases and declines in craft beer enthusiasts.

goes on to say its success with fundraiser site GoFundMe had allowed the space to make necessary repairs and bill payments, delaying its previously impending closure.

“Over the years, we have come close to making this announcement many times, and somehow or another we would find a way to stay open, but we have finally run out of good luck and miracles, so it’s time to hopefully move on to bigger and better things!” the post reads.

Broken Strings Brewery will throw one last hurrah Saturday, Jan. 18, with a final party in the taproom fueled by free beer “until the kegs are empty.” Details about the event will be released soon.
