Selinsgrove, Pa. — A pair from Allentown were caught using a stolen credit card to purchase more than $5,000 in construction supplies from the Selinsgrove Lowe’s store.
Berenice Lantigua, 31, and Luis Miguel Bueno, 33, were charged a month later after they were caught committing a similiar act at the Lowe’s store in Mahoning Township in Carbon County.
Trooper Oakley Bennett of PSP Selinsgrove says the pair were at the Selinsgrove store on Nov. 11 when they purchased $5,135 of construction supplies, including copper wire, flooring, two hot water heaters, and plastic conduit. Lantigua and Bueno then left in a white utility van.
Lowe’s asset protection later found out the pair had used stolen credit card information to make the purchases, according to the affidavit.
During the investigation, police found that Lantigua and Bueno had also used stolen credit information to make purchases at other Lowe’s stores, according to the affidavit. When the pair attempted to make similiar purchases at the Carbon County store, staff contacted police.
