Body found in mangroves in Tampa, police investigating

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A body was found in mangroves on Monday afternoon, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Just before 3:15 p.m., officers responded to the area of the 2400 block of Chapin Street to find a man dead in the water.

The dive team has retrieved the body and detectives are investigating the incident.

The victim has not been identified, as of this report. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
