Man stabbed in fight over loud music on train in Grand Central Terminal: MTA

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – A man was stabbed during a fight over loud music on a Metro-North train in Grand Central Terminal on Saturday, according to the MTA.

It happened on a New Haven line train as it was pulling into the station around 6:50 p.m. A 31-year-old man had complained about the music being played on 46-year-old Abdul Malik Little’s cellphone, the MTA said.

An argument broke out between the 31-year-old man and Little, according to the MTA. Little was accused of stabbing the victim twice in the chest, officials said.

The victim then got off the train and approached two MTA police officers, according to officials.

Little was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, the MTA said. A knife was found on him when he was taken into custody, according to officials.

At least three stabbings have taken place inside Grand Central since Christmas Eve. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch promised on Monday to put more police officers on trains and inside subway stations citywide.
