Officials have updated Tuesday’s state funeral schedule for former President Jimmy Carter due to winter weather impacting the nation’s capital.
The late president’s body will be escorted from the Carter Center in Atlanta to the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C.
Between five to 10 inches of snow fell across the Washington D.C. region on Monday. Today’s events were scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m., but each ceremony has been pushed back approximately 90 minutes.

Tuesday’s schedule includes a departure ceremony from the Carter Presidential Center in Atlanta; a departure ceremony from Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Georgia; an arrival ceremony at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland; a funeral procession from the U.S. Navy Memorial to the U.S. Capitol; and an arrival ceremony and service at the U.S. Capitol.
Carter will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol Tuesday night until Thursday morning, the day of his funeral services.
