BOISE, Idaho – Here are the latest numbers from the National Association of REALTORs. The average age of the U.S. homebuyer is now 56. That’s a historic high and up 6 years in age in just a year-and-a-half. Meanwhile, the median age for first-time homebuyers is 38, at last check. And the percentage of homebuyers being first-timers is just 24%. That’s the lowest rate since NAR started tracking the number in 1981.
