Students in several local parishes, most notably Lafayette, will return to school for the new year on Tuesday, January 7, amid the frigid temperatures. The Lafayette Parish School System is taking steps to help keep students warm on their way to and from school, as well as during classes. LPSS officials said they’re ready for students to return to the classroom despite the freezing temperatures. As temperatures are expected to be near freezing over the next few days, the Lafayette Parish School District is making sure all students are safe and warm.
