Storm Track 3 Forecast: Bitter slowly becomes better, light snow late week

A system to our west is churning snow in eastern Colorado, impacting Denver to Colorado Springs and Pueblo.  Some of this snow is trying to work east along the Kansas/Colorado state line and into the Oklahoma Panhandle.

Due to high pressure dominating most of our viewing area, this keeps the higher snowfall west of us. Any accumulations along the state line, will be in the low side from a trace to an inch – at most. This system slides southwest of us and any snow will taper this evening.

Clouds will try to flow farther east and be eliminated due to the drier air associated with the high pressure system.  Overnight, it will be bitter again.  Temps will fall below 0 degrees in higher snowpacked areas.  Elsewhere, expect lows in the single digits and lower 10s with a clearing sky.

Temperatures try to warm a few more degrees on Wednesday.  It will be a struggle to gain much heat over the thicker snowpack.  Western Kansas will feel milder although temperatures all around the state will remain below average.
