South Carolina man pleads guilty to crimes against Polk County child

POLK COUNTY—On Monday, January 6, Jesse Bernard Floyd, 24, of Greer, pled guilty to multiple charges related to sexual misconduct with a Polk County minor.

District Attorney Andrew Murray says Superior Court Judge Lisa Bell presided over the Polk County Criminal Superior Court Session as Floyd pled guilty to attempted statutory sexual offense with a child 15 years of age or younger, taking indecent liberties with a child, and soliciting a child by computer and disseminating obscenities to a minor under 16.

According to the investigation and court trial records, Floyd befriended the child on the social media website “Sniffies” and started soliciting the child for nude pictures and sex. After building an online rapport, Floyd convinced the child to let him come to his Polk County home. The child became nervous about the meeting and alerted a family member.

Floyd was found unclothed in the home of the child and was attempting to carry out sexual acts upon the child.

Under a plea agreement, Judge Bell sentenced the defendant to a minimum term of 125 months and a maximum of 210 months in the NC Dept. of Adult Corrections. Floyd will also have to register as a sex offender once released from prison.
