Portions of Fort De Soto Park reopen after damage from hurricanes

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — Portions of Fort De Soto Park in Pinellas County are back open after suffering damage during hurricanes Helene and Milton.

The causeway, boat ramp, East Beach and part of the campground reopened last year. The historic fort, dog beach and both fishing piers reopened on Monday.

County officials warned visitors to be careful around any storm debris remaining in the park.

Daily parking fees at Fort De Soto Park, Sand Key Park, Fred Howard Park and Pinellas County boat ramps increased to $6 per vehicle on January 1. Annual and six-month passes remained at the same price.
