A suspect wanted in connection with the murder of a Virginia man in Maine last month has been arrested in California, state police said late Tuesday afternoon.
Luke Krott, 26, of Edgecomb, was arrested on a warrant Monday night on a sailboat at a marina in San Diego, California, state police said.
Krott was arrested in connection with the murder of William “Nate” Robinson, 34, of Austinville, Virginia, whose body was found inside a trash barrel in the Schmid Preserve on the Old County Road in Edgecomb on Dec. 3, state police said.
The Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta determined that Robinson died of a gunshot wound and ruled the manner of death a homicide.
On Dec. 12, detectives executed a search warrant at 57 Conant Road in Turner, where evidence found at the location linked Krott to the murder of Robinson, and an arrest warrant was issued for him.
Krott, who had been staying with his parents in Edgecomb, left the state and arrested Monday night with the help of the San Diego Police Department’s Fugitive Task Force, the FBI, and the U.S. Marshals Service.
