IRVINE, California — A 44-year-old Irvine man has been arrested for engaging in a sexually explicit conversation with an adult posing as a minor, according to the Irvine Police Department. The suspect, Eric Reid Zuercher, allegedly suggested meeting the individual he believed to be a 14-year-old boy.On January 5, 2025, a private group that exposes online criminal behavior contacted the Irvine Police Department after posing as a minor and communicating with Zuercher. The group reported that the conversation turned sexual, and Zuercher asked to meet. Before notifying the police, the group confronted Zuercher at his home, but he retreated inside and closed the door.Detectives obtained a warrant and arrested Zuercher at his residence.
