BONITA SPRINGS, Florida — A 37-year-old Fort Myers man was arrested Friday afternoon following a road rage incident in Bonita Springs, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect allegedly threatened another driver with a knife and slashed the victim’s tire.On January 3, deputies responded to a road rage incident at South Bay Drive and U.S. 41. The victim reported that a black Nissan SUV was driving aggressively. At one point, the driver, identified as Matthew Tobler, age 37, of Fort Myers, Florida, stopped in the middle of the road, exited his vehicle, and approached the victim with a knife, threatening to stab him, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.Tobler then returned to his car but later came back to slash the victim’s tire. The victim managed to take a photo of Tobler’s vehicle, which helped deputies locate and arrest him at his home. Inside the residence, deputies found a backpack containing the knife used in the incident, stated the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
