MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Grand Strand Health has received two new additions to its ambulance fleet to improve services by transporting patients between its hospital and free-standing emergency departments.
Dozens of medical personnel attended a “Blessing of the Fleet” ceremony on Tuesday to launch the new interfacility transport service.
The new ambulances will transport patients between Grand Strand Health’s main campus on 82 nd Parkway in Myrtle Beach and the South Strand, Carolina Forest and North Strand emergency departments.
Mark Sims, chief executive officer at Grand Strand Health, said it is a blessing to be able to have the service for patients.
“For our team here on the main campus, it really helps them to improve communication amongst the other ERs so that transport will be much quicker and expedited because there is a high level of awareness now that we have this transport service available,” Sims said. “It’s going to be great for our patients.”
Sims called it a next-level service for the community.
