According to the Continuums of Care division of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, as of January 2020, Tennessee had an estimated 7,256 experiencing homelessness on any given day, consisting of 508 family households, 570 Veterans, 353 unaccompanied young adults (aged 18-24), and 1,153 individuals experiencing chronic homelessness. Kinsman Redeemer Board President Liz Wall and founder Pastor Jamie Allen see firsthand how the rising homelessness epidemic affects Dickson County, especially women and the disabled, and they want to be a helping hand to give those caught in that cycle a hand up.
