(Washington) — Iowa Congressman Zach Nunn is among the supporters of a bill designed to curb crimes caused by illegal immigrants. By a 264-to-159 vote Tuesday, the U.S. House approved the Laken Riley Act, which requires the Homeland Security director to take into custody illegals charged with theft and other offenses. Supporters named the bill after Laken Riley, a nursing student murdered by an illegal immigrant while jogging on campus at the University of Georgia. The suspect, identified as Jose Ibarra, was later sentenced to life in prison for the murder. Nunn lauded the bill’s passage in an interview on KMA’s “Morning Line” program Wednesday morning.
