Women in Manufacturing hosts networking event in Erie

Local women got together Tuesday night to celebrate their professions and meet some new faces.

Women in Manufacturing held their first event of the year at Room 33 on State Street.

Erie Restaurant Week returning for fifth year with over 60 local eateries

Around 50 women showed up to the speakeasy to promote their careers and network with people in similar jobs across the county.

On Tuesday the Women in Manufacturing made an announcement that they will be starting their own chapter here in northwestern PA.

“Women in Manufacturing is a national organization, so we were acting as a chapter along the western side of Pennsylvania. Now, we’re branching out and kind of doing our own thing here. So, originally we were only hosting about two or three events here in Erie per year, and now we’re going to up that to 12.” said Taylor Smith, PS Energy technical sales manager.

Smith said they will be taking their next event to the ice rink for an Erie Otters game.
