Power restored for nearly 28,000 customers in north Denver metro

DENVER ( KDVR ) — An equipment failure caused a large power outage north of Denver that left nearly 28,000 customers without electricity Wednesday morning, according to Xcel Energy’s outage map .

The outage affected customers in Broomfield, Boulder, Denver, Louisville, Lafayette and Westminster, but power was restored to most about 11:20 a.m., according to the outage map.
