***Cold Weather Advisory Tonight – Wind Chill 10-15°***
***Winter Storm Watch Friday***
Tonight : It will be mostly clear and very cold. Lows will be in the mid-to-upper teens, and the wind chill will be in the teens. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect between 10 PM and 8 AM. Protect people, pets, and pipes! Drip faucets and open cabinets under the sink.
Tomorrow : High pressure will move across Alabama continuing to send frigid northerly winds across the state. Thursday will start clear, but clouds will increase during the afternoon ahead of a low developing in the western Gulf of Mexico. High temperatures will be in the lower to mid-40s.
Our next weathermaker, a Gulf Low, arrives Thursday night into Friday night. The low will move east right along the Northern Gulf Coast. Its track will play a role in how much winter precipitation Alabama receives, drastically changing the forecast.
The low will send moisture/rain into the cold air over Alabama causing it to mix with accumulating freezing rain/sleet/snow during the morning.
