Steve Shine eyes reelection as Allen County Republican Party chairman

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — Allen County Republican Party Chairman Steve Shine announced Wednesday he plans to seek reelection for what would be his ninth term.

Shine has served in the role since 1993.

According to a press release from Shine, the Allen County Republican Party raised nearly $950,000 between 2020 and 2024, something he attributed to “team efforts.”

Shine also said the Allen County GOP is working to host the Indiana State Republican Convention in Fort Wayne in 2026 after last hosting it in 2014.

“The success that we enjoyed in 2024 when we last held the convention in Fort Wayne still resonates with the state, and we fully intend to duplicate and exceed the positive experiences which the delegates enjoyed the last time the convention was held here,” Shine said.

Shine’s current counterpart, Allen County Democratic Party Chairman Derek Camp, recently announced he would not be seeking another term in the role.

The 2025 Allen County Reorganization Meeting will be held Saturday, March 1 at 9 a.m.
